The VelocityOne Flight¹ is excellent flight simulation hardware, but many users experience frustrating sticking and binding where the yoke shaft drags during movement. This is especially noticeable during precision maneuvers like landing flares.

The StickFree Yoke Fix solves this design limitation by adding rolling bearing support around the yoke shaft. The bearings grip from all sides, centering the shaft and eliminating the friction that causes the binding in the factory design. The result is buttery-smooth yoke movement with precise, predictable response.

How It Works

The mod consists of two precision-printed PETG-CF halves that clamp around the yoke housing where the shaft emerges. Quality bearings mounted in each half provide 360-degree rolling support for the shaft, preventing any metal-to-plastic contact that causes the sticking sensation. The design does not interfere with the full forward and backward travel of the yoke.

Installation

Installation takes approximately 5-10 minutes. The only tool required is a Phillips head screwdriver.

1. Separate the two halves (shipped connected together)
2. Position the halves around the yoke’s outer portion on the base of the controller
3. Begin threading the screws, taking care to align the M4 nuts properly to avoid cross-threading
4. Hand-tighten both sides evenly
5. Tighten until it becomes difficult to spin the yoke by hand around the clamped surface
6. Verify both sides are tightened reasonably equally to maintain even pressure
7. Test yoke movement—it should now glide smoothly

Important: Do not overtighten. The halves should grip the yoke firmly but should not be forced fully together. Excessive pressure can damage the original plastic housing.

No modifications to your VelocityOne¹ are required. The mod is completely reversible.

A: The StickFree Yoke Fix does not require any permanent modifications to your VelocityOne¹. It clamps externally and can be removed at any time, returning your yoke to its original configuration.
